As the Saying Goes...

"Change alone is eternal, perpetual, immortal."

Change is inevitable. No one can run from it as that is the only constant in our world, we are always changing as the world evolves. I bring this up because I ask you to think of how you handle change? Are you able to adapt easily or is it quite a struggle for you?

I noticed for myself, when I was young I thought I was invincible so no challenge was too difficult but with age I grew uncomfortable with change. I was tired of the roller coaster of emotions and wanted a more stable life. But as I learned, life will throw you curve balls whether or not you want them, so again change is inevitable and we must learn to run with it. There is a very wise quote by the late professor randy paush...

“We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand.”

Thought to take away: Learn to embrace change for it is inevitable.

A Hand to Hold

Working with children at the Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago has already been an eye opening experience.

These kids just want a hand to hold, to know they are not alone. Often times their parents are no where to be found or are unable to visit. One baby had heart surgery and he was only 7 months old. He loved having visitors. All he wanted was to have someone hold his hand and play with him.

Another little girl was sitting all day watching Dora the Explorer because no one was there to visit her. We walked in and chatted with her for a bit and brought in a toy. She smiled. Again, she just wanted to know she wasn't alone, that someone cared.

These are such little kids. Makes you wonder, at such a little age these kids have already gone through so much. And as human beings, at the end, all we want is a hand to hold.

The Chocolate Bar at The Peninsula Hotel

108 E. Superior St.

This is a hidden treasure in the city that not everyone knows about but once you do you will make sure you go back with everyone:)

The Peninsula hotel is a fancy hotel located at Superior and Michigan Ave. The lobby has a restaurant that is very upscale and fancy. On Friday and Saturday nights there is a chocolate buffet in the middle of the restaurant. This buffet has the most delicious chocolate desserts including hot chocolate, cheesecake, brownies, cakes, mousse and more.

I recommend this for a romantic night or a special occasion with friends. Just for fun below is a pic from a girls night out here :)

Paris Club

This restaurant is so fun! It has a euro style atmosphere. The theme here is french and modern.

 59 W Hubbard

My friend and I tried the goat cheese au gratin because people raved about it on yelp! It was yummy. We also tried the croque monsieur fingers, which was good as well.

For main food we had steak and fries and lamb meatballs. Meat lovers will not be disappointed. I recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a trendy spot that has good food.
