Giuliana and Bill's Italian Restaurant in Chicago: RPM

I had friends in town over the weekend and wanted to make sure I showed them a good time. Since they were visiting from los angeles i wanted our saturday night restaurant to be really classy and there was no better place to choose than RPM.

This restaurant opened up 3 weeks ago. When you first enter there is a lounge area to the right, couches to the left and a host standing in front of you. Once you see the glamorous crowd and servers dressed in white suits you feel you have left Chicago and entered L.A. The girls at the restaurant literally reminded me of los angeles in their high stilettos, mini skirts and flashy sequence tops, this is definitely a hot scene.

The food was good. We ordered bruschetta and lobster caprese. Both were very yummy. We all had different italian entrees, my friend had pasta and i had chicken with peppers, loving spice the chicken was a little bland for my taste, but everyone seem pleased with what they ordered.

Our favorite was dessert. We ordered a chocolate dessert that they are putting back on the menu, it was a pudding dish. Oh my it was yummy, especially if you love dark chocolate as i do :)

The ambiance was my favorite part, we sat and ate for about 4 hours, just the three of us, was such a joy:)

I recommend this restaurant if you have a date night to plan or if you have guests in town and you want to impress them.

Located next to India is Myanmar. This picture is of its gorgeous city Bagan.Wish i could visit here on my trip to India but next time:)

Persistence Pays Off

Do you often think in life why would you deserve to get something over someone else? Why are you so lucky to have had such an opportunity when millions of others want the same thing? Is it truly just luck?

I think there is a luck factor, but I've always possessed a quality that allows me to reach my goal...persistence. I never give up. In life, if you truly want something you have to show the world how much. Actions speak louder than words though, so show us. At some point though I do believe you have to surrender. But don't surrender until you have tried till the 1000%; not 100% but 1000% when you know you've done everything you possibly could and it didn't work. You can accept that you tried your very very best but it wasn't meant to be.

Quartino

Located on State and Ontario, incredible area by the way, this restaurant is superb if you love italian food but want small amounts. It's tapas Italian style.

Went there for lunch yesterday for girl time and we sat outside on a gorgeous 83 degree chitown day (amazing for march i know). We ordered the sicilian caponata which is eggplant, this was our tables favorite appetizer. Their baby spinach salad is great as well as the caprese salad which has fresh tomatoes, mozzarella and basil, yum i know:) I've actually been craving pizza for some time now and was so excited we were able to order some here! Per our waiter's recommendation, we had the quattro formaggi pecorino, mozzarella, fontina, & parmigiano which was yummy, as the pic below shows.

 Again if you love tapas and italian food this is the perfect spot.

Foushanji Expresses Her Hardships Through Her Art

This art work speaks wonders. How many times have we heard stories of women who are oppressed in Afghanistan simply because of their gender. I will never forget that scene in the movie "Osama" where the women were hosed down with water because they were walking in the street and needed to move out of the way for the men arriving.

If you love mexican food this is definitely a great chitown spot to check out...

guacamole is generally a favorite for most and theirs does not disappoint :)

I recently tried their spicy chicken sandwich, it was so good and their plantains satisfied the sweet craving as we passed on dessert. The restaurant itself is very trendy and has a fun atmosphere. I've only been here for lunch so I can only imagine how fun it is at night.

This is definitely a safe spot to go to if you want to be guaranteed good food and a good time :)
