Foushanji Expresses Her Hardships Through Her Art

"She is wondering if she can get up, or if she will fall down. Women in Afghanistan need to be careful with every step they take."

This art work speaks wonders. How many times have we heard stories of women who are oppressed in Afghanistan simply because of their gender. I will never forget that scene in the movie "Osama" where the women were hosed down with water because they were walking in the street and needed to move out of the way for the men arriving.

 "I will never say I am not an Afghan. This messed up country is mine. I will perfect what I have and try connect to our people," said Foushanji.
