I haven't written an entry in a long time but felt the deep need to write one today.
On Friday, December 14, 2012 a 20 year old took a gun into an elementary school and shot and killed 20 children and 6 staff members.
My heart is broken. When innocent little children are being murdered in your nation, when they were simply at school, you feel your country, your world, is at war.
Debates have started again on gun control or media coverage, however no one can deny that something needs to change in our country. We have to stand up for the innocent and say enough is enough, no more murders please. We are tired of worrying about being shot at in a school, in a movie theatre or in a mall. No more please.
It will be a hard thing to push for more gun control in America, as people fear their rights being taken away, however there must be something we can do different. No one wants to see anymore innocent people die because we acted too late as a nation. Please let's all stand up and ask for change.
To the families who lost their children on this past tragic Friday, our thoughts and prayers are with you. We can not even fathom what you are going through but know that we are here for you. May your children rest in peace.

I remember a similar shooting back in 1996, in Scotland. Known as "the Dunblane school massacre" and I never thought that I'd live to hear of another massacre happening like that in my life time anywhere else in the world.
ReplyDeleteThis is very upsetting, heart goes out to the people who have lost many loved ones and to think that these 6 year olds had all lost their life because of a psycho with a gun is just something else.
I know...so very sad.
